FRIDAY - Thinking About Your Brokerage? This Is Worth a Look.

What if your brokerage actually gave back more than it took? On this week’s Brokerage Breakdown, we’re spotlighting a model that’s quietly solving three of the biggest pain points agents deal with every day. First, it includes healthcare coverage for agents at no monthly cost, giving peace of mind without the $700+ premiums many agents carry on their own. Second, instead of a cap that resets year after year, this brokerage rewards loyalty with a declining cap that drops the longer you stay, allowing more of your commission to remain in your pocket over time.
Finally, every transaction includes built-in transaction coordination at no extra cost, returning dozens of hours per deal that most agents spend buried in paperwork and compliance. This isn’t about flashy marketing or promises. It’s about math, time, and sustainability. If you’ve ever wondered whether your brokerage is actually helping you build a better business and a better life, this is a conversation worth exploring.

TODAY’S FEATURE:
Stop Renting Your Audience
Let’s start with an uncomfortable truth.
You don’t own your followers.
Every time you post on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, you are asking permission to speak to people who already chose to follow you. And that permission can disappear overnight.
One week your posts are everywhere.
The next week, almost no one sees them.
That is what it means to build on rented land.
Social platforms are powerful tools, but they are unstable foundations.
Reach drops without warning.
Accounts get hacked or restricted.
Platforms fall out of favor entirely.
If your business depends on a platform you do not control, you are building on quicksand. When it shifts, you are forced to rebuild from scratch.
That is why the most successful agents are no longer relying on social media alone to maintain their relationships.
📈 What Relationship Capital Really Means
Relationship Capital is not how many followers you have.
It is the trust you build over time through consistent, direct communication. It is the reason past clients remember you, refer you, and come back when they need help again.
And here is the key distinction.
You cannot fully own relationships that live only on social platforms. The platform controls the connection, not you.
🔮 What Smart Agents Are Doing Differently
The agents winning right now are not chasing viral posts.
They are using social media as the introduction, not the destination.
They are moving conversations into places they control, like email and direct communication, where relationships can grow without interference.
Social media gets attention.
Owned communication builds trust.
🔑 Three Moves That Build Owned Relationships
1️⃣ Move the Conversation to Email
Email remains one of the most reliable ways to stay connected.
It allows you to share real updates, helpful insights, and timely reminders without hoping they appear in a feed. When someone opens your email, they chose to hear from you.
That is owned communication.
2️⃣ Stay Connected Directly
Phone numbers and personal check-ins matter because they feel human.
A thoughtful message or quick check-in builds more trust than a dozen posts ever could. These small touches compound into long-term relationships.
And once you have that connection, no platform can take it away.
Social media is still valuable. It helps people find you and get to know you.
The shift is simple. Use social media to invite people into deeper communication. Not just likes and comments, but real connection.
Social is the handshake.
Owned communication is the relationship.
🧠 How to Use This in Your Business
Below are examples of how agents can apply this idea in their own client-facing content.
Script 1. Why I Stay in Touch
Social media is great, but it’s not how I stay connected with the people who matter most.
That’s why I focus on direct communication with my clients and past clients. Real updates. Real conversations. Real follow-up.
Buying or selling a home is too important to leave to an algorithm.
Script 2. After the Closing
If we’ve worked together before, you may notice I don’t disappear after closing.
Great service includes staying connected long after the transaction. Market updates, helpful reminders, and checking in when it matters.
Relationships don’t end at the closing table.
Script 3. More Than a Post
Some updates are too important for social media.
That’s why I communicate directly with my clients whenever possible. It’s the best way to make sure nothing important gets missed.
If your entire business disappeared from social media tomorrow, what would you still own?
The strongest businesses are built on relationships that outlast platforms, trends, and algorithms.
Stop renting attention.
Start owning connections.
One request - if you’ve learned something from our newsletter or joining us at our Virtual Coffees and other events, please forward this to another agent that you think would also enjoy becoming a part of our circle to create IMPACT in their business!
We’re looking forward to seeing you tomorrow morning!
Happy Networking,

Book of the Week:
Never Lose a Customer Again by Joey Coleman
In Never Lose a Customer Again, Coleman offers a philosophy and methodology for dramatically increasing customer retention and as a result, the bottom line. He identifies eight distinct emotional phases customers go through in the 100 days following a purchase. From an impulse buy at Starbucks to the thoughtful purchase of a first house, all customers have the potential to experience the eight phases of the customer journey. If you can understand and anticipate the customers' emotions, you can apply a myriad of tools and techniques -- in-person, email, phone, mail, video, and presents -- to cement a long and valuable relationship.
My favorite tools!
