What are you choosing to engage in
for your life and your business

Welcome To Our Monday Newsletter
Better Bits.
Welcome to Better Bits!
This newsletter is designed to be a quick, impactful read in about 2-4 minutes. Each issue revolves around a central theme derived from a single word, concluding with three actionable items to encourage immediate implementation. The goal of Better Bits is to provide succinct, motivational content that can be easily digested and applied.
Let's learn and implement together.
I used to look for drama.
It’s a fact, I grew up surrounded by challenges, scarcity, negativity, trauma and I walked away always suffering not realizing I was choosing to stay in that mindset.
Nobody ever told me I was choosing to live in that crap.
Something is always wrong.
Something is always happening.
Something always to complain about.
No. More. Never. Again.
Change is real.
Change can happen.
Change is your given choice.
So…I ask you…What do you engage In?
Let’s Be Real.
We all have that one friend who is always “busy.” You know the one. They can’t catch a break because they're either swamped with work or bogged down by the latest drama from their favorite reality TV show. It’s almost like they get a thrill from running around like a headless chicken. But here’s a crazy idea: what if we chose to engage in things that actually matter?
Energy Vampires vs. Energy Boosters:
Think of your energy like money. Would you spend it all on junk food and lottery tickets? Probably not (though that does sound like a fun Saturday night). So why do we spend our energy on things that drain us? Negative news, toxic relationships, endless social media scrolling—these are the equivalent of emotional junk food. And let's face it, nobody feels great after a junk food binge.
The Good, the Bad, and the Just Plain Ugly:
There’s the good stuff: connecting with loved ones, working on projects that excite us, or simply taking a walk in the park. Then there’s the bad: engaging in petty arguments, complaining about the weather (we get it, it’s hot or cold or wet), or obsessing over things we can’t change. And finally, the just plain ugly: doom scrolling through the latest apocalypse news on Twitter.
Choose Your Battles:
Here’s the kicker—what we engage in is a choice. You can choose to argue with strangers on the internet (always a productive use of time), or you can choose to focus on something that brings you joy and fulfillment. Imagine spending your energy on learning a new skill, nurturing relationships, or even just enjoying a hobby. Sounds better than a Twitter war, doesn’t it?
Sarcastic Real Talk.
Let’s play a game called “What Did I Engage In Today?”
Did you:
1. Get into a heated debate with a robot on customer service? (Spoiler: you’re not going to win.)
2. Watch 12 cat videos in a row because the algorithm knows you better than you know yourself?
3. Complaining about your coworker’s lunch habits for the 5th time this week?
Or did you:
1. Call a friend just to say hi?
2. Spend 30 minutes reading a book you’ve been meaning to get to?
3. Take a walk and actually notice the world around you?
Again. YOUR choosing.
Can you choose BETTER?
Action Items:
Audit Your Engagement:
Make a list of what you’ve been giving your energy to. Be brutally honest—yes, even those TikTok rabbit holes count.
Prioritize:
Decide what deserves your attention. Is it that endless stream of bad news, or is it something that makes you feel alive?
Act:
Start small. Engage in one positive thing each day. Call a friend, go for a walk, or simply sit in silence and breathe. Your future self will thank you.
So, what do you engage in? Because if you’re spending your days fighting internet trolls and worrying about things beyond your control, you might want to reconsider your investment strategy. After all, energy, much like time, is one resource we can’t get back.
And there you have it. A little humor, a dash of sarcasm, and hopefully, a gentle nudge to spend your energy on what truly matters!
